Hi all, my spreadsheet-based handicapping has done very well the last couple of weeks on sides, so I'd better start posting some picks before it cools off!
Last week my main plays were a round robin of 2-team teasers with the Giants, Eagles, and Patriots. The Giants was my computer's favorite pick of the week rating them as a pick versus the Packers. My computer didn't actually favor the Eagles or the Patriots versus the spread, but I liked them, with their experience and talent, to at least win their games. These "square" plays paid off well. Bets and teases on the Falcons, Chargers and Cardinals did well, too. It was one of those weeks where I should have played every teaser as a parley! Oh well, enough pointless glee over unposted winners...
This week - I'm going to round robin with 2-team teasers the Dolphins, Raiders and Chargers. All dogs here.
Dolphins - No team has scored more than 17 points on the Dolphins this year, so they conceivably could be shut out by the Patriots and still cover the +19 point teased line!
Raiders - I was sorry to see in Fezzik's article that this line actually opened at +10 and I didn't get it until it was at +9. Did it open online at +10? I didn't check my online outs Sunday night. My computer has the Raiders at +6. Collins will hopefully limit his mistakes this week, and at worst, the Raiders, with some offense, will cover the +15 with a garbage-time score against the Colts Defense.
Chargers - Granted, the Chargers D. isn't great, but the Jaguars have only been averaging 13 points a game. With LaDainian T's big play capability and Drew Brees' improved play, I like the Chargers to win this game by a field goal. Worst case, I don't think the Jaguars can beat them by more than a touchdown, hence the tease.
I've got a 2nd tier round robin of 2-team teasers with the Texans at home versus Minny +10.5, Bills at Jets +13, Panthers at Broncos +12.
My lines didn't show any value in teasing any favorites this week.
Plays on totals this week: Giants/Dallas over 37.5, Rams/Seahawks under 43.5, Raiders/Colts under 52, Bucs/Saints over 35.5 (now 36.5), Vikes/Texans under 49.5.
Good luck all,
The Cruncher :howdy:
